i have grown a soft spot for my injured or sick normal pleco.i wanna heal and keep. i just got this 55gl stocked. the pleco was included.the guy claims he had the pleco for 2 years,this pleco from head to tail is approx 5-7''. i know this kind of pleco gets huge but is there a period of time he could exist in this 55gl??? or was that the 2years and he needs to move out and his insides are already cramping and hes letting out those hormones into the water already???

i would love to get a bigger tank in a year like 150 gallons or something. but if he has to go i could keep in touch with the lfs thats gonna be taking care of him for updates and possibly if hes still there when i do decide to go for the big tank in a year come back and take him home.that would be a fishy love story:)

I don't think it's already stunted, so you could probably keep it in the 55 until it's 9 to 10", but that's the absolute biggest it could be kept in the 55, after that your going to at least need a 125
 
plecos at the lfs now.im going to kitp with them about that pleco.he had fungus and im treating my 55gl with fish keeper orange. any one used that stuff?
