Took these last night of my little male red strain. I love this one man he is such a beautiful fish already I hate what the camera flash does to his looks, but I can not get a decent pic of him without. It's a bummer but oh well still looks nice

Thanks dude, this is my other male I picked up last week. Quite a bit larger and the total other end of the spectrum. This one is very blue with a bit of red, and yellow is not so great. When I picked him up he was very skinny and had some fin damage. After a week he is no longer sucked in and fins are starting to grow out. He should be decent given a couple of months and some more TLC

isn't that top pic a female. i though only the females got that black mark on their gill plate. really nice sal though

No it's male I have had a few males with the spot. I have heard that too before but it's a myth

notice there is no black spot on the dorsil fin, female Sals will always that have one it's not a myth
