yes. i would wash it first tho

Wash it very very good. I assume you know how to do this?? If not ask..... The way I would add is put some in a cup or small bucket trying to keep a lid or your hand over it. Put it on the bottom and slowly spread it around.

Turn off your filters until the sand settles. You don't want to be sucking up sand into your filters.

it would be a hassle if the impeller on your filter broke. so turn em off.

Thanks!, I have some sand I used from my other tanks that I'm going to put in just to make the bottom a little thicker. I'll give it a good wash tomorrow.

Yes you can, Just give it a good wash...And add it slowly to the tank. To much at once can stress your fishes imo.
