ist one i believe to be a male Fuelleborni... but i want to make absolutely sure.. he is in a hospital tank..was a little rough when i got him..coming along nice..looking to buy some young females for him.. the next fish is a OB blotch but not sure if it is male or female..i am thinking male from the egg spots.. should i get a female OB to breed with him or just plain Metriaclima zebra if this is indeed a male..{males are suppose to be a rarer Blotch then females}?? called Marmalade cats..{do these breed ?} thanks for help in advance...:)

Looks to be a fuelleborni.
OB's tend to be female. Marmelade cats have lots and lots of blotches, the ones I have seen.
Best way to sex is to vent the fish. Catch it and turn it over and see if there are one or two small holes. Females have one with the back one being much much bigger.:naughty:  :headbang2 :nilly:

If this OB is indeed a blotch female...what do i breed her with .another marmalade cat or a regular zebra??.and if this is a fuelleborni what specific type is he ??? ,...are there a few different varients..???.because i cannot understand how to buy the females for him with out being absolutely sure of the fuelleborni type or doesn't it matter as long as the females are Fuelleborni..if you understand what i mean... but thanks so far..big help!!!;)

The ob will work fine if it is female with a non blotched male. You will spit a few of each... Just be sure not to feed them hormones or they will be come male...
very good so just a regular red zebra male will fit the bill.. thanks so much..one down one to go haha:)

The "Labeotropheus" looks more like L. trewavasae, being quite long and thin. The possibility of it being a very inbred trewavasae or hybridized specimen is very likely. The rostrum should be much more pronounced.

The OB Zebra could be male or female. Males may develop a blue coloration in the fins or blotches. I personally would not mix OB estherae with orange or red estherae since you don't really enrich either strain. The fry will likely not look as good as either parent. They make for great displays and additions to mixed tanks but I wouldn't plan on saving any resulting fry unless you were able to find more OB zebras.
