Nice monsters! My one endli jumped out of my 270g tank the first day I put him in and I didn't find him for 2 days (dried up on the rug!). :( He was 1' thick and 12" long and managed to find the one gap of 1" between glass covers.:irked: I continue to learn from the school of hard knocks. Bichirs are expensive here, I paid $150 for him!

Your tank looks nice too, how about a full tank shot? How big do tropical gars get? I am growing out 2 florida gars to go into my 270.

These guys are around 4" thick, the largest polys I have ever seen. I have a 20"+ P. bichir bichir, but not even he is as thick. I too have lost a few polys, and now keep rocks on the covers and plug holes with sponges or plastic bags. Sorry for the loss, buy a few more and start over.:)
This guy is over 5 years old from what I've been told is near, if not full grown. Again, THICK. Florida gars stay thinner, and will get around 18"..
