Great site. I was researching details of a DIY project and when I found this this place; I've been reading it for a couple of days now.

The scale of the aquaria some of you guys are running is staggering. I myself keep an Asian Arowana [grade 2 red] called, embarrassingly enough, Big One. Named by my son. (not as bizarre as the rabbit which he named House for some reason) It’s actually my son’s fish but he’s only 3 at the moment, so I help a little ;)

I’ll post some pictures of the tank in my gallery when I can figure out how it works. :)

I’m a big fan of DIY as my long suffering wife would tell you (if she wasn’t too tired of hearing about fish to come to a fish forum that is). It’s good to see how keen you guys are for DIY projects as well. I thought the continuous drip water changer I’ve been running since last year , was pretty cutting edge stuff ‘till I read a few threads in your DIY forum and found there are people here who’ve been running them for years; I guess there’s always someone who’s already doing of it :)

I’m making an indoor nano (or possibly micro, depending on perspective) pond for the Arrowana (5x2.5x2 feet), with a glass lid, the details of which I’ll post in the DIY forum soon.

Read y’ all soon, I’m sure it will be an education.

Thanks for that guys.
I figured out the personal gallery, kind of; hope I've picked the correct category.
Don't expect too much of my pictures. Especially of that camera shy fish of mine!

Wellcome to another aro maniac!! Post pix in the aro forum, please..

You also use round smooth stones like me!! I like it!!:)

Thanks for the kind words.

Cant be too careful with arowana and anything sharp. Seems like they have a suicidal nature. :)

I’ll post some proper pictures when I get the new camera at the end of the week. He’s way larger than in those pics, about 14 inches (TL) now.

Friend of mine brought one of those rocks back from Indonesia; got to get rocks from the right location.
Pity I cant remember which one it was :grinno:
