Anybody have any experience/feedback regarding the use of Morton's pool salt for water conditioning? The bag and website state that it is high purity and no additives. Paying $6 for a carton of salt is getting old, esp when bulk salt is about the same price for a 40lb bag.

The Benefits of Morton® Pool Salt Morton® Pool Salt is a high purity and fast dissolving solar salt designed for use in swimming pools that are equipped with Salt Chlorine Generator or automatic sanitizer systems. It contains no additives (YPS).

dont know about pool salt but i buy 50lb bags of morton solar salt for $5 at home depot and it works just like aquarium salt, in fact its the same thing, just dried up sea salt. im assuming pool salt is the same thing but i may be wrong.

yeah thats it, but salt isnt a water conditioner like prime or stress coat, its used to treat some ailments or for some added regularly with water changes and water conditioner.

dmopar74,
How long have you been using it? I guess I'll ge stopping by home depot for some of the same salt that you use. I saw the solar salt there the other day and wondered about that too. I also use prime for water treatment in conjunction with salt. I just called it a water conditioner cuz that's what it says on the API box and how it's categorized on their website.
Thanks again

Yeah, that's what I was thinking/hoping. Just want to make sure the one i chose is safe. Anybody else have experience/feedback with bulk salts?
