i hate having a mosquito breeding ground in my home.
strange though, they only go into my c.micropeltes tank, and then they can never get out? there is always floating dead skeeters on the top.

anyways, i dont like it.
how can i control them, better yet, eliminate them?

suggestions?

thanks in advance.

There are floats that you can put in ponds that eliminate them, but I doubt they're recommended for tanks. Maybe if you put in a small portion of one that would work. I'd recommend mosquito fish, but your fish would probably eat them!

If possible mosquito fish for sure... but most fish will eat the larvae.

How big is your SH? You might be able to introduce Heterandria formosa for mosquito control. If your SH is mature, these least killiefish should go unnoticed as food items. They're smaller than mosquitofish and also eat mosquito larvae as their primary diet.

There are many fish that love mosquito larvae but with the channa I don't know if they would last.If you put a powerhead sweeper in the tank it will cause enough surface movement to discourage mosquitos from egg laying.

Just place some aeration using airstones in the tank to have some surface turbulence and that would discourage the mosquitoes from breeding.
