No, use a basketball net. Lol just get a decent size net with small holes, and keep in mind the longer the handle, the better. I used to use a length of pvc pipe to extend the handle of my nets.

Jonahs a website that sells native fish, also sells a dipnet that is used by native enthusiasts.....it called the "perfect dipnet" and has fine mesh and a long handle.

I caught some today at creek near my house. I think i got about 5 pregnant ones? The bellys are very fat & i caught a total of 10 (now in my 10 gallon). I had to get into the water to catch them ;) I used a fish net. I wanna get a like a those big nets where you can threw it and it goes down? And catches whatever you threw your net too. Dont know what its called.

It's called a throw net. If you plan on using one, be sure to check your regulations, as you can only use them for certain species.
