mosquito fish on dirty jobs,on now

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I just saw that too. I was hoping there was a better way of getting them. What is your method? Just drop the net in and lift it out, or something more specific? Also where do you look for them?

i throw bread by floating plants.
wait till ya see a bunch, then scoop them with a net.
or just scoop move scoop move,on the edges and around plants.
i hurt the population in my hole.i took thousands. :D
im trying to breed them on my own now.
i have big ones from a while back in my pond.
hopefully i get a seine net for x mas.
then i can see every fish in my spot. :headbang2

we get small ones by accident while filling buckets at our spots, we also get them in a shrimp net. too bad the rest of our pond loves them, they never last.

I can't believe that they don't breed them for the skeeter problem there. I was there after Katrina for work (I'm an evil insurance adjuster, not really evil but everyone thinks we are) and the skeeters were worse than here in florida.

I use a dip net. The net is about 2' diameter. It has 3 lines that are connected to the rim of the net and then tie of to 1 line above that. I have a curled piece of wire to put the bait on.

For bait I use macrel mixed with flour to make a dough and stick a ball on the spring.
Dip the net and when you have a bunch of fish abouve the net, pull up and you will have some feeders in your bucket.:)

I just stand about knee high in the water next to the edge or around plants, and before you know it, their nibbling at my legs, then I scoop. Works every time.
