Picked up 6 mosquito fish today to breed in my 10 gallon and then my 29 when the aro grows big enough to go into the 125.

Anyone breed these before? They look like a regular livebeareing guppy except a bit larger. I think I have 1 male and 5 females. If these are as prolific as they say they are, I may not need to buy any more food for my leaf fish.

ive heard they are quite easy to breed ive never breed them before but i guess they breed just like guppys as wat ive heard

you will need to keep an eye on them, they are, in my experience, cannibalistic

they can be mean to each other if they are the only things in the tank

why would you breed mosquito fish ? you can take a net and catch them at will . look up midnights thread on netting .

I just bought an umbrella net as per midnights thread but since it is Feb. and there is a few inches of ice between me and the minnows I will also be breeding some guppies...

All livebearers are cannabilistic. As are they prolific. So yeah they should be easy to breed.
