theres a drainage ditch behind i church in punta gorda where i go every year thats SWARMING with them. And I saw an Oscar too. I even saw one of those melanistic Mosquitofish. I thought it was a Molly. I was afraid of going down for a closer look because:
Alligators
Snapping Turtles
released exotic Monitors
Water Moccasins
Oh and BTW i have 7 Affnis, 2 females and 5 fry

mine used to love flakes but not much anymore one takes the occasional brine shrimp
