In my 25g planted, one of my two moss balls started expanding like crazy recently, and breaking apart. Any one ever heard or this? I did start using a new fert recently, all my plants seem to be happier. ImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1364697864.701165.jpgImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1364697876.277758.jpg

Thats because it is... I also see green dust algae on the leaves of the plants as well.

To answer the OP's question

Marimo Moss balls when the balls get big enough, they become hollow. Once they are hollow, you can break them in half with a sharp knife. They usually reproduce by propagation by splitting or spores.

Hmm maybe I'll try splitting it, we sell these things for like 8$ each. The green dust algae as you say is on a few plants, especially that plant in the pic, never has done so well and the algae just won't clear from it, plant isn't fighting it at all.
