moss ball substrate?

Okay, I have been considering buying a bunch of moss balls and cutting them in half to make a carpet of them... My question is of course will this work?

I'm pretty sure that they eventually go back to balls. Have you ever looked into java moss? You can make a nice carpet out of that, but it grows fast and needs lots of maintenance, or it will take over your tank.

I have looked into java moss, but i like the no upkeep aspect of the moss ball, i know it would become a ball eventually, but either way i think a nice green carpet in my CA/SA community

i will work ive seen it done im just not sure if it was on here or ac. i do remember how they did it though. she/he just cut them into patches and tied it to some drift wood it looked pretty nice once it grew in
