Ok, new project coming up.

Need info.

I have a 80gal. MUST be planted, and everythings been done. Drift wood with moss, swords, ect.

Now its time to overhual.
I plan on doing somthing where the whole bedding is coverd by bright green moss/ grass like plants?

Ive seen them done, but dont know their name. Im pretty much trying to go for the lil Microsoft Windows basic wallpaper they use on their XPs.

Anyone know what im talking about and could give me some info and tips on doing this? Also what plants would be best for this project?

I wouldn't do moss for the entire ground cover as you will have one really big detritus trap. As for a grass plant to do this with, if you can get it, echinodorus tennellus short form. If you can't get the short form the normal variety will work quite well too.

what about dwf hair grass

You might try dwarf sag too. Here is a pic of it in my 180.

You can make a nice green carpet by tying down riccia as well, though I hear it requires frequent maintenance. I just let my riccia float, the way nature intended.

There is also the macroalgae option. Cladophora, Vaucheria, and some others can form very pretty green mats.

Kinda funny it got more attention 2 years later than when it was posted :) nice resource for a common plant question
