Most Agressive Freshwater Fish Besides A Snakehead...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Level of agression is really dependant on the individual fish. There are a number of cichlids that lend themslves to being highly agressive. Such as Dovii, Jag's, Bleeker's, Trimac's, FH's , Texas and Umbee's but there is a chance that any one of them could be a big wussy and sweeter than a puppie. On the flip side I have seen every one of those species become glass banging "This entire tank is mine" psyco killers.

Sheep Pacu, MBU Puffer, Fahaka, list goes on, etc...

Tiger musky - roar - things are true aquatic monsters pound for pound competitive with anything in the world. :nilly:

Tiger muskies are naturaly occuring but if you want a non hybrid, pound for pound small mouth bass still gets my vote. Large mouths get bigger but in every other way the small mouth has them beat. Their common-ess has robbed them of mystic but small mouth are lighting fast, intellegent, and utterly ravonous predators in their own enviroment. As I have joked before while fishing: despite the piranha natives there swim in the Amazon and rarely if ever come to any harm. If the Small mouth had a piranha's teeth our rivers would not be safe.

Look up a Bowfin.. I think he wants something "like" a snakehead but obviously due to the ban can't get one

I think you are mistaking aggressive eating for overall aggressivness. I have caught and observed both species in the wild, and although they are much more aggressive than many North American species, they just couldn't compare to many of the species listed here; most cichlids, wolf fish, etc could easily out-compete these two.

Also, tiger muskie are RARELY naturally occurring, since pike and muskie usually spawn in different parts of the lake, at different water temperatures. I'm not saying that it cant happen, but in almost 20 years of fishing I've never heard of them being naturally occurring.
