most beastly/ kick@$$ fish for a 55g?

hi.

i'm trying to find an interesting fish for my 55g. by no means am i new to fish and aquariums and i've probably had most fish you see at stores at one point or another. atm i have angelfish and tetras in my 55 and they're just not that interesting nor do they have much personality. just looking for opinions for either a single or a couple of beastly/mean/personable fish i keep in my tank after rehoming the community fish. so what do yall think? it can be a cichlid, carcin or what ever.

what kind of fish do you have at the pet store? we can't really help you if all your looking for are fish at your pet store...most people here (i think) order there fish on-line. but for your 55gal....neon tetras and some rams in a planted tank, with sand bottom and a nice piece of drift wood.

i never said i was looking for fish at my petstore, just that i've owned most common fish you find at stores. i'm looking for something unique

Get a Red Monkey.

You could keep a single Serrasalmus piranha in there for years before you had to upgrade to a bigger tank.
Or if you can get some exodons that would be more fun.
