Good question! Hard choice.... It would be between a goldfish, betta, oscar, or convict. I would say goldfish.

I've never had gotor!

Angelfish, guppies, goldfish (though no newbie should be entrusted to care for one), various tetras including neons and cardinals. And certain barbs like the tiger barb are also immensely popular.

I've never had neons. I have had bettas, and have lots of goldfish!
