I go to petco to buy a replacement UVB bulb for my turtle, and then I see a dude getting a fish bowl. I tell him it's better to get a tank and cycle it and the bowl is not good for fish and he replies "Well fish only live for like a month or two anyways, so who cares." I tell him I had a severum who lived for 9 years, and that's not even his full lifespan (He had a swim bladder issue) and is shocked. What other misconceptions do you guys know of?

Here's some I know of:
Fish have a very short lifespan
Fish are very dumb and only have a 3 second memory

Well kinda likes yours. The armatures who buy a tank with all the goodies, throw in 100 dollars worth of fish for them to drop likes flies in a couple days. Then I would ask them did you cycle your tank? Common response is whats cycling a tank? I have a filter to take care of the waste. lol

edit typo

"...They only grow as big as the tank allows, right?"
"...They don't sleep!"
"...That one is big; she must be pregnant?"
"...It doesn't swim fast - it's not healthy"
"...It will last in the bag until tomorrow, right?"
