Antennas, cejas, tigers... all very difficult rays to keep. Of all the rays which are the hardest to keep in your experience, and in what order from easiest (say a motoro) to intermediate to most difficult to keep? I know books give an idea, but I'd like to know about first hand experience from the people who have it. Thanks.

agreed. but i also have to add that a well acclimated, fully treated ray are hardy animals with specific needs.

#1 Cejas and Chinas

#2 Antennas

#3 Schroederi Flowers

#4 Tigers

#5 Retics and Histrix

#6 Black rays

#7 Motoros

#1 hardest
#7 easiest

of course, this depends completely on who is acclimating them and how they were caught and shipped and if you are looking after them correctly
agree

i have never kept Cejas, Chinas or anntena rays so i cant coment

all rays are about the same as long as you get them in good health to start with

its just some are harder to get feeding than others and thats when the problems start

Well thanks, I would have thought tiger the most difficult, but that is good to know about the cejas cause my LFS guy keeps trying to sell me two cejas but i figured i should work my way up the list. Got motoros and retics but missing a black ray or two, Some got a hook up:naughty: LOL.

One more thing, what about the Ororongo ray, Ive read that the are one of the hardiest. Is this true from experiance anyone, and are they as aggressive as I've read too?

You have hit the nail on the head T1K :grinyes:
No one ray is any hardier than another once they have been acclimated correctly & are feeding well IME

Have to disagree. Well adapted Tigers stop eating with no reason what so ever. And are dead in 3 or 4 days. I'v seen this in several tanks. But I think Davids list covers it all.

The same thing happened at my LFS and with two tigers. the came in looking good and eating well, then than some time later they stopped eating and died. They were gorgeous and I was so close to picking them up until they stopped eating or it would have been hard and expensive lession to learn.
