How about Aqualog All L-Numbers Revised? like $90 on ebay:WHOA:

I just want to do some reading. Environment, Size, Sexing, Breeding, etc.

What is the best book?

Don't know of a good book really. Datz and Aqualog are more based for identification, and out of those two, I'd take Datz anyday. I read online literature and journals to get most information to be honest. That and forums. Planetcatfish has basic info on most of them and the shanes world and CotM sections both have care and breeding articles for a reasonable amount of species.

Thanks Davo.

Is this the one or is there a more recent one? A lot cheaper than Aqualog but is in German and English.

Best way to learn about plecos, is an active forum about pleco, reading articles and such, and having experience with the fish themselves. The datz and aqualog books won't help you out much in learning the actual behaviors.

I'm not sure which is the most recent... but as said, it will only mainly help with identification, and even then it can become confusing.

cough cough...I know you will find a great forum if you search aquarank

i think some of the best members from there are good contributing members here too ;) PC and PF both have a good database of knowledge. Wish I could visit them more often.

Yeah I totally agree, these are my two favorite sites, the best all around BY FAR in terms of all sorts of fish and then a great active specialty group.
