Most interesting way I've ever seen a fish eat

Ok so I got to see if I can get this on camera or if he dose it again but I just fed my fish and I had one of my severum eating upside-down. Like his belly was facing the top of the tank and he was eating. He then flipped back was only like that I saw 3-4 seconds.Has anyone ever seen this before? The fish is swimming fine and obviously eating lol
I can't wait to feed them tomorrow to see if it always eats like this or what. I definitely needed to take a double take because I thought I had a fish with a problem.

Never heard of a fish eating upside down but my flowerhorn I noticed last night sleeps upside down at the top of the tank and lays it’s back on the suction cup between the wall and heater

Yes, some of my bigger plecos will eat floating food by swimming upside down. Fish are very adaptable.

But where the plecos mouth is it has to eat like that. Still strange But even crazier for regular fish I think

When I put in floating food some of the cory cats come up and try eating them upside down.

My corydoras eques eat flakes like that on the surface. They would eat at the surface with their bellies facing up. One of the smarter corydoras I have own.
