Im assuming many people here will feed tilapia or baby shrimp etc on here instead of pellets sometimes. Im sure many of you know this trick already. We do this with ground beef too.

If you flatten out the food in a ziplock bag. It will freeze and thaw much faster. Also makes it super easy to break apart.20230607_200826.jpg

And I'm also sure many people will know that terrestrial based protein such as beef, beef heart and chicken are not particularly good for your fish!

i never said we feed beef to fish. this method of freezing the food was shown to me originally using beef to cook for human consumption. instead of taking a few hours to thaw. it takes 15 minutes or so.

I always figure a little variety is good for them as a treat. I occasionally feed my fish bits of leftover chicken, it breaks up into nice little wormy strips pretty easy. They seem to like it more than any other food.
