I am going to get some syns this month and got to wondering what viejas are the best wet pets because i am in the process of changing up my tanks. Thanks.

A Vieja Bifasciatus or a Zonatus would be sweet.Also a Argentea wouldn't be a terrible idea at all.That was going to be my original cichlid, but the vendor shipped me out a Vieja Bifasciatus instead.So in the end any Vieja cichlid would be nice to add in the tank.What size take do you have by the way?
Its actually two tanks one is a 175 bowfront and the other is a 110 but i also am planning on having a 360 in the next several months for my umbees so at that time my 240 is open as well
240 gallon tank would be good enough to have a Argentea,Bifasciatus,and Zonatus or a Black Belt really.In my opinion though, a Bifasciatus is a bully to smaller tank mates and can be aggressive, but not Midas level aggression.I haven't had my Bifa for not even a year yet and he already passed up my Jack Dempsey in size.

For me, it was a tank of a zonatum I got from Dan Ye Jennings last year. My best personality vieja ever, so far!

I have experience with Zonatus, Regani, and Fenestratus. Zonatus are the most owner responsive but they are also the most aggresive of these 3. They would make a great "wet pet".
