Use a pond pump at least 100watts or two of them silk 5 socks together so they look like one stuff the thing with carbon and tie the thing on to the pond pump, its way overkill but it works like a charm and works for about a good year that is if you want overkill i run 32x 5500gph on a 175g in this manner talk about clean water X) and best part is its silent non pressurized filtration is for nits lol come on folks its easy

uhhh sounds good until you need to service it, when i was running 5500gph through 2 filter socks they needed to be cleaned every other day.

You actually use 6-7 regular white socks and just layer them any less it wont work any more it wont work then you fill them half full with carbon bc fish piss and you need to filter that out so strap it on via a bunjie cord wrap it around and hook it on to the outlet part of your pump and just drop it in and hide it behind wood and it runs perfect for about 1yr without service if you build it right ive used sumps and other setups but for big stuff you need raw horsepower that wont stop ive got some 2-3ft clown knifes and its the only thing that makes it stay crystal



you can see the pump with socks attached behind the wood on the right its running triple antics one daylight and a killer pressure pump 100watt i think at least

it pulls 32x pressurized filtration no needs for maintenance on this type of filter for 1+ years gonna build a inline autonomous autotopoff for it but im to lazy to go to homedepot and get the stupid inline fridge filter with toliet tank value crap maybe next month right? you want badass filtration that's silent this is it

the socks will go hard when you have about 6+ of them layered and they mature and get bigger and handle massive amounts of bio loads 2 socks is fail boating express for sure
