Hello fellow fish heads. I have been searching online for a virtual fish tank that is actuall realistic with real kinds of fish not robotic or make beleive dumn stuff. A tank that you have to do every thing that we need to do in real life. I told my 8 year old son if he could keep all of his virtual fish alive and healthy, tank clean ect i would set him up a 29 gallon to start. He allready is involved in what i do with mine and oviously i will help him any ways. Just want to c what will happen with his own with out me touching it and oviously im not going to do that with living animals. I cant find any thing in my search that is realistic on any kind of real scale. Bunch of dumn stuff that you dont have to do much at all. I want something you have to clean the tanks, do water changes, and the rest of the maintaince that we have to do beside just feed the fish. I am looking for a virtual tank that is cool realistic and free. Not really put much thought to these before but know i think about it we should have a cool one on this site. Thanks in advance for the input and view guys. Allso to add he can play my ps3 with no problems. He has a wi and is very good at using the computer and the internet so any of that wont be a problem even if it is hard he is very quick and will learn it easily thank you

I don't think any simulation can properly show the work it takes to take care of fish. Your best bet would be to start him out with something easy like a little 10 gallon with some tetras or something.

Oviously im going to help him as previously stated. Im not going to let a little kid run a tank by him self as previously stated. That isnt the point of the game. This isnt a bag on me thread if you dont have any thing to the point off what im asking dont bother responde thanks

Well what do you wanna hear? We just gave you two solutions that you didn't like. There is nothing that is free that will work in your situation.

There was an iphone app that was a virtual fish tank where you had to feed your fish etc, but no water changes or anything like that involved though... and in all honesty, i don't think there are any full on virtual fish keeping games out there, or if there are any, not very well known?

facebook has a couple apps like that, but no water changes or anything. it's all feeding them, "cleaning" the tank, and buying/breeding fish. they're kind of dumb though

I haven't come across any kind of realistic virtual fish aquarium program. I really doubt you are going to find one. I know you don't want to here this, but I agree with the others - start him out on either your own tanks (with supervision (of course, as you previously stated)) or on a small tank - maybe like a little 2 gallon w/ a betta.
