Nice kings. What did you catch them on?

Do I see a redfish in there to? If so where do you go to catch reds and kings in the same spot?!

We catch reds and kings off the same rigs, but we can't keep the reds in federal waters.

Oh ok. The only time I catch reds (i now know what you caught wasnt a red) and kings at the same time when we are trolling the pass for small schoolie kings.

I fish out of Pensacola so the rigs are bit too far for us to run in our 24' with a single yam 250 at about 65miles one way. How far out is it for you all and are you in blue water?

ETA: Do I see a spade fish in the pic with the red snapper to the lower left of the two spanish? If so YUM! and what did you catch him on?

yea thats a drum. We had a 40lb red drum at the aquarium and so many people would say redfish but thats because they are often mislabeled and sold as such, especially for food. possibly because the name drum turns alot of people off, Reminds people of the freshwater drum.

the rigs outta texas vary.. out of galveston we go around 15-20 miles i think to hit the first few rigs. out of freeport we you go about 10 miles and youre in good water and the water there gets pretty blue, but sometimes youd have to further out to reach better, more blue water.

yes, thats spadefish.. you cant catch those alllllll day. anythin for bait will work, piece of bread, rice, sabiki rigs.. pretty much anything. i bring a trout rod with me just to catch them.. its real fun catchin them on small tackle.
