what fish have you kept together which normally shouldn't be kept anywhere near one another? mine is my 5" female JD in a 30 gallon tank with .5" synodonis petricolas. i thought the JD would have eaten them for sure but i kept an eye on them and nothing has happened yet. the jd seems to like them because she never picks on the catfish and they even hide under the same rocks. the min reason i think this combo worked was only because my JD will only eat hikari carnivore pellets. she hates any type of NLS and other hikari pellets. she will not eat live fish or ghost shrimp or even bloodworms.

My community is quite a random mix... 4" ebjd, tons of corys, some large tetra, an African dwarf frog, trumpet knife, german blue rams, electric blue crayfish, and even a ~4" ornate bichir.

I have just about everything in my large tank. Did away with bass though and soon I'll add fronts and need to throw some others I have in other tanks in.

I keep my little congo puffer with Buenos Aires Tetras. The tetras were intended to be food but he's only nipped at them a couple times and hasn't gotten one yet. He's too small/slow to catch them right now, they have to come to him for him to get a chance at all
A guppy also had an overnight stay in the tank without issue from the other fish
