i am hoping to open the floodgates for all the useless/harmful/just don't do what they claim they can products or chemicals for aquariums. I know there are a lot of outlandish claims out there.

I will start off by saying that I use many seachem products and some of you may have seen me recommend some in my posts. I will say though that I have seen no use in using STABILITY to improve bio, even just to supplement cycled tanks. Also, seachem's PH REGULATOR has phosphates, which on top of causing algae outbreaks, were totally unable to even briefly change my waters 7.6 PH levels. I only bought it b/c it was on clearance for less than 5 bucks at a lfs. Even still, i want my money back

Had-a-Snail will kill everything in your tank, plants and fish

yeah, speaking of which many of those algae treatments in a bottle are BS cuz they don't really fix anything. they weaken your plants, kill SOME algae, then give the algae plenty of opportunity to suck the life outta the tank while your plants are down. don't waste your money.

plus, i won;t even start on nitraban. just type it in a search window and search some posts on mfk

Years ago I tried this stuff called Acurel as a water clarifier. That was their claim but it ony cleared my wallet.

Ive used the STABILITY for my 125 when cycling. It seemed to help, I mean it took about a week-2 weeks. I also bought this product because it was half off so might as well try it out.

perhaps hard water and high PH affect the effectiveness of it. but I followed dosing to the letter, and even bought a 2nd bottle and it still took 30 days for my tank to fully cycle. AND that was in addition to adding things from an established tank to help in cycling

Yeah my PH is like 8.8 or something like that. I use the API test kit and it's as high as it can go on the high rang PH test. Also are water is very hard we live in the country. Items like that should say not effective in low PH and etc.

not to mention, bacteria spore or not, i'm sure they have a shelf life that isn't always kept up with. I'm sure if it is past the "expiration" date, then you just bought a bottle of dirty water

Also depends on if the store rotates their chemicals or not. You know put their old stuff up front while the newer stuff in back. I work at Petsmart and I try to rotate because I know this info but it's not one of Petsmart's priority list to do this kind of thing. This can also make buying these chemicals useless too.
