If you were to breed the red tiger with the gold tiger or with the normal tiger, etc. would that be considered a hybrid? Just an interesting question I came up with. Thanks.
 
Not technically a hybrid as they're the same species, just different regional variants. Though I personally would try to keep the fish from different areas as different lineages.
 
Yes, technically a hybrid becuase the word has three dictionary meanings, one of which is crossing differant races ...

1. Genetics The offspring of genetically dissimilar parents or stock, especially the offspring produced by breeding plants or animals of different varieties, species, or races

But in the hobby hybrid is generally used for interspecies, not interracial.

yes. Confusion, because people down the line would not know what they truely have. Leave the hybrid stuff alone let the flowerhorn people *cough* House64 *cough* handle the hybrids. :D
