Pics of my rescued mota:
You can see the damaged fin and bad eye. Other than that, he's beautiful-long fins, nice colors, huge canine teeth, measures 9-10" including tail. Still some scratches from a fight 3 or 4 days ago. He has much nicer colors in person, but I'm still debating whether it is a gold or red mota.

Like him Jim?

How old is that guy?

No idea-rescued him from my lfs. A customer brought him in maybe a year ago at this size, so I'm guessing 3+ years.

he's so skinny, feed him well, good luck ^^

Yeah, he is very skinny. He's doubled in width since I picked him up though. I suspect that he was only given feeders for a number of years because it was difficult to make him eat pellets. It still takes a little while for him to eat floaters, but eats sinkers like a pig.

Rob, what fin is damaged and how???

The good fin is on the side of his bad eye. The bad fin fin is just pinched. Here's some links that that kind of gives you an idea of how it can be fixed:

A lot of work though...

He looks awesome even with the eye and head damage. I think that just make him a little more appealing cause he looks BADASS. He is a little skinny plump him up and post in 2 weeks or so.

I really do love his look-the damaged eye kind of adds to his appearance. I was planning on fixing his fin with some surgery, but I might not do it now.

I'll post again in 2 weeks...if I still have him.

Nice mota !! my lfs has 2 same size, but i just dont have the space for them right now kudos 2 u for the save.
