I am trying to get a pair of Motaguense, but their hard to come by my area, I got 2 pcs that turned out to be females, so getting a male from the last 2 at the store is somewhat of a long shot. Luckily for me Loiselles are easy to get, NOW, What am i missing if I decide to go with Loiselles over Motaguense ?

Aggression, a couple of inches, and the color red. Loiselle are awesome fish, one of my favorite parachromis. Way under rated. Motas are incredibly aggressive, maybe as much so as dovii. Loiselle are the least aggressive parachromis typically. Still not a really mellow fish, but not psychotic.

I personally like female motas over female loiselle because of the red, but their yellows can be very bright sometimes

You will enjoy P. loiselle. Smaller size beautiful colors and still have a Parachromis adatude. I've always thought of them as Jaguar lite. Similar to the way a Lyonsi is to a Trimac.
Ok, I got five 4 to 5 inch loiselles yesterday. what I noticed is that my Mota at 3 inches is more colorful. Is this normal ?
Just got these 4 Loiselles a few days ago, their 3-4 inches in length, the colors were wash out when I got them, now the colors is starting to show. Feeding them Tetrabits. One has a defect on the tail, not sure if this was bitten or a inborn defect.
