motherboard dead?

So whenever I tried turning on my laptop,

-the laptop turns on but the screen is black
-number and caps light flash
-I can hear the start up clicking going on and on
-touch keys are on
-you know how when you turn on your laptop, for 1-2 seconds the laptop is still black but all the touch keys are on, pretty much my laptop won't get out of this 1-2 cycle

I've tried the pop out battery and what not, went to geek squad and they told me motherboard is dead. Is this true? My laptop is 4 years old.

If your motherboard was dead it wouldn't do anything although there might be something wrong with it making it useless. Could also be your screen but it sounds like you need a new laptop.

What do you guys think about this laptop? Also is 13.3" too small to watch tv shows/movies on? I was gonna get a 13.3", but just seems too small for me. Touch screens seems pretty dumb for a laptop when you have a mouse right?
