ok guys i wanna see wot all u ray people think about keeping Motoros in same tank as a RTC?

apart from the obvious of fitting in mouth, wen a motoro fully grown in a tank would it be ok with 2-3ft RTC as long as sufficient food?

What size tank? They obviously coexist in the wild but both fish require copious space and will have to be very well fed. Also a question of temperament for the individual fish. In the short term when both are small probably fine. However when the ray hits 3 feet and the Red Tail hits 6 feet they are almost certainly going to clash. Then you have a thick skinned 55 gallon drum with a industrial vacuum vs a living land mine with 6" shank (my 14" has a 3" spine so I'm assuming 6" for an adult).

You would have to have a massive tank. A huge rtc laying on top of your ray is asking for trouble.

hahaha all answers are wot i thought they would be, currently 400gal tank with 35cm RTC, 6 silver dollars, 1x tiger oscar, 3x pbass mono soo i was expecting the rtc to eat my silver dollars before he bothers any of the larger things, judging off growth rate so far will have bout 12 months before RTC is 2ft so gota bit of time to see how they behave, also my rtc is very active doesnt sit on the bottom much at all

Well its different with the other fish you mentioned because they live in a different water level than rays and RTC

The RTC will be to clumsy at food time for the rays

RTC feed like my tigrinus that snap at food then think later

My tig aways ends up with a mouth full of ray when he snaps at food but the rays pull him off I think it would be more hassle with a RTC doing the same

Very simple, when they are adults if the tank is huge the RTC wouldn't be at the same level as the ray's it would be slightly above that is why it is possible to see them together.

But the real problem is when they are both small, with no doubt the RTC would grow faster than the ray and the tank wouldn't probably be big enough and he would heat her, she might sting him and they might both die.
In my opinion I would never mix, but in my opinion too, who has a big enough tank for a 1.5m RTC?
I also don't support people keeping TSN for the same reason, although I love monsters, some fish are not aquarium fit..
Buy fish like Tigrinus and Juruenses thay are much more worth it.

But this is just my opinion
