Hi

I have a group of motoro rays. 1M 3F all three are ~10months old, will be 1 year on the 30th of august this year.

All 4 are around the ~10" mark.

My male looks like he is ready to go in the breeding department, he has some big claspers on him that have been fully rolled for about 2 months now. Over the last few weeks he has started trying to flip the girls over and bite them etc. Nothing too outrageous but there is some noticeable damage on all three girls. I think being in a large tank and having a few to spread the agro over is certainly helping my situation.

I recently spoke to a fellow ray keeper is aus. His female ray gave birth to pups at ~13months old. The way mine are going it doesn't look lik they will be too far behind that. What is the youngest you guys have seen rays give birth to pups? please don't just regurgitate information that you have read either.

Pic of my male from behind, not the greatest pic but you get the idea.

They have been in a 450gal since they were about 3 weeks old, and have been fed hikari carnivore, night crawlers and chopped fish fillets.

Cheers,

Akex

I had a similar experience with my rays. I started with 3f motoros and 1m marble in a big tank. The m chased and bit all 3 f starting around 1 yr. I sold 2 f and the remaining f had her first litter at 1.5 yrs.
