I borrowed my friends Canon Eos Rebel XSi the other day to try taking some pics with it. It blows my little digital 35mm out of the water! I don't think I want to give it back to him now...

great shots and nice healthy ray. good job!

Does your ray keep blowing holes in the sand looking for food? Mines does constantly even after a feeding.

Yah she does. She spends the whole night swimming around the tank, "poofing" into the sand looking for snacks. She's very cute (at least to me).

The only problem I have with her (not a big one) is that for the life of me I can't get her to eat anything besides earthworms. She totally turns her head at market shrimp and tilapia. I haven't tried freeze dried krill yet, but I'm going to tonight.

I really love the "circle of spots" in the middle of her back, right behind her eyes. It makes her unique in my mind.

ive never had a ray that dident do it yet.

a good trick i do is hide worms in the sand. they spend the day looking then find one and get VERY excited about it! its great to watch.
plus earthworms seem to last a good while underwater so they dont knack your water if they dont find them right away.

motoro looks well mate.

have to get myself a decent cam.

very nice motoro, but no full tank shots???? :)

Here you go :). They just don't show little miss motoro (who, btw, is the prime suspect in the murders of 7 angelfish, 2 geophagus, 1 red ceibal, and 2 bleeding heart tetra's. She's racked up quite a list over the last 2 months :irked:).

I'll have to try that. She LOVES her worms. Unfortunately so do her tankmates. She's got 6 pike cichlids sharing the tank with her, and they all go crazy for earthworms as well. They make it difficult to just drop in food for the ray and walk away. I actually have to feed her individual worms from a pair of tongs to make sure she gets what she needs.

But I'll try hiding them under the sand, and see how that works.

you actually have a dragon that is alive, i have never seen one kept succesfully.

Yep, biggest one I've ever heard of too. He/she's around 17-18" now, about 2-2.5 years old. Thriving very well in my tank. I think it helps that he's always had a very varied diet - pellets, flakes, frozen bloodworms, fr brine shrimp, fr krill, live blackworms, live brine shrimp. The occasional live fry from random breeding fish in his tank. I'm going to post up some more pics in the photo lounge later today, I'll make sure to put some of him up there.
