i dont think EAT would be something that would happen .. my rays live with danios and small dats never had a problem .. i have seen the rays swim on top of the dats before with out a problem ..
but the ray could always sting the armatus and cause a problem
Yes I agree, may not eat but may kill. My male MM was smaller he tried to eat/kill 2 of my severums, he was not able to do it. But he did it to one of my pbass now that he is 13in
as long as the armatus are nice and healthy, they should be ok. if the ray gets a hold of the armatus, the armatus needs to be strong enough to get away
I think it mostly depends if yor ray is well fed. The only times my rays have killed a fish is when I've missed some feedings and there was 5 pregnant females in the tank. I've been lucky and have rays that are totally non-aggressive when feedings are kept up and that is with 20-30" rays with small feeder goldfish. On the other hand rudy has a big female henlie that will kill just to kill any fish it can. I can't see your ray killing a healthy armatus at this time like vamptrev said.
I can tell you all that rays definetly enjoy the way Armatus taste. It only took me loosing a shoal to figure this out. The smaller rays that killed off the last 2 were roughly the same size as the Armatus.
In my opinion Armatus grow fast enough that it really isn't worth the risk.
