Had a chance to get a motoro pup for free and since im in florida, you know I jumped on it!
Well I put him in a 220 tank and he was doing fine with a mix of SA/CA ciclids and a few plecos. I could not get the food to the bottom of the tank, other fish wouldnt let it happen, so I moved him into a 55 gallon since it was that or a 90 that is uncycled. Its a barebottom tank also, it helps to monitor his food intake. Anyways he is eating great, all types of food.
I came home today (day 3 of him being in the 55g) and he was missing 2 small chunks, one on each side of the body. He is stocked with 2 - 4 inch bichers, 1 - 7 inch clown knife, 1 - 5 inch african knife, and 2 - 2 inch african leaf fish. What do yall think caused the bites? I think it was the bichers, Ive seen them try to bite each other. then maybe the clown and last the leaf fish or african knife.
This tank is a growout tank so really I can move most of these fish to another tank, but I just looks more impressive with more fish. Also If anyone has suggestions on other "oddball" type fish i can mix let me know!
Anyone want to suggest meds that I can use to keep the bites from getting worse? I have acsess to most meds even the hard to get stuff.
Its rare I have a fish that I dont know how to home properly but this is my first sting ray.
I appreciate all info, Thanks.
