Hey there, I have a few questions about my motoro . First let me say that ive had a retic for about a year now nice, fat and healthy though ive heard that they are hard to keep. So i figure eh everybody says motoros are easier to keep ill shell out the 139.99 on a beauty that i had the store feed before i bought tail nice and fat no hip bones showing well that was a week ago now hes starting to get skinny and is a real picky eater i thought maybe the retic was outcompeteing him for the food so i put him in a 40 to himself , long story short still not eating alot eats blood worms threw in some ghostshrimp he just kinda picks killsem but not really eats, earthworms wont go near im at my wits end I NEED ADVICE PLEASE dont want him to die havent lost a fish in 2 years heres a pic

Thanks

40 gallons isnt alot of water for a ray so watch your params very closely.... keep feeding it what it wants to eat try getting some smaller earthworms red wigglers.... its eating so you dont have that much to worry about....... some rays take a lil longer to get eating...

I had no other options the 40 is my jail for fish that get out of hand lol or sick . Felt he needed more nutrition, what worries me is the dents that are forming on his head

you should try getting a divider and seperating the motoro from the retric
Also make sure u cut up the worms, ghost shrimp are nice to get him to eat since its live food, make sure lights are off ... and treat it with prazi pro when u get him eating, that way you know there is no parasites

dents??? bare bottom is best for this go get it live black worms and keep feeding a few doses of prazi pro wouldnt hurt either...

maybe raise temp to 85 if you can find live blk worms that is usually good i have had them under weight with dent in the head and turn around and pull through this one here is one of mine that has pulled threw good luck and offer food as much as possible

well there more like indentations on his head like between his eyes .I could take the sand out but i dont wanna stress him further , tommorow i will go get some prazi pro as for blackworms nobody in my area sells them the one that did is out :(

yep thats what its startin to look like
