Ok so I've been out and got some red worms. I'm on days 4 of owning him now and still not happy about how much he's eating. He's chewed on a couple of muscles but never at them properly. When I put him in he was hugely active unlike my 1st so I never turned the lights out. They are out now as I tried the redworms and he didn't seem interested. I've changed about 20% of the water every day since having him as I did for the 1st 2 weeks of having my 1st Motoro so the water is bang on. The guy I had him from had a huge catfish in with him not sure the type but wasn't an rtc but similar size and I'm pretty sure this guy had very little food due to this as his tank was far too small.

should he be better with food now the lights are out or at least after a few days?

hes still hugely active regardless of the lights. Which again are now turned off.

First off did you see the ray eat before you brought him home? If yes what was he eating at the previous owners house? Have you tried anything else as far as foods go? What size tank is he in? What are your water parameters? How did you acclimate him? How big is he? Have a picture of him?
Start with those questions first. I will check back shortly.

I saw him eat about a week before purchase. Not from a lfs but I know the lfs it was from.

Tank is a 220gal. 6x2.5 footprint. Ammonia 0. Nitrate 0nitrite 0 as I've been doing 20% changes a day.
Drip method acclimatised.

About 8-9 inch disk
tried silversides. Hikari pellets. Fresh prawns. Muscles. Redworms. Bloodworm.
He does go for the worms and muscles but just sort of sucks on them. They are cut to about 5-10mm cubes.

Thinking of putting him on a 2x2.5 away from the other ray and doing 2 water changes on it a day.

Hes the grey one
