I've had my Motoro for 9 months now, his disc was about 6" when I got him, and is about 8-9" now. What is the normal growth rate for these guys?
He got really sick about 7 months ago and barely ate for a month and almost died, but he recovered well. He has been perfectly fine since then.
He is in a 5x2x2' with good filteration and wc once, often twice a week.
I will be getting him a female next month, for breeding later on, when they are sexually mature. Anyhing I should watch out for? I've read that males can get pretty agressive towards the females, will this be a bigger problem if he is sexually mature and she isn't?
I'll be setting up a 10x4x3' tank which will be their home along with a couple other fish. I'm thinking of waiting until the summer of 2015 to set it up, because of budget. Think they will be fine in their current tank until then or will I have to upgrade sooner?
