Hi everyone just bought my first ray. Just had a few questions.
The male I bought is roughly 10 inches. Got him yesterday. Has spent most of the past day swimming from the bottom of the tank to the surface then falling back down to the bottom and bouncing back to the top.
Is this normal?
Also just found out there are marble and standard motoro, what is the difference?

Hello and congrats.

The swimming to the top and coming back down is completely normal.
The difference between marble and reg. is just the pattern/markings on its back.

GL with everything!

...and most times, an increase in price for the marbled ones...unless your lfs does not know what they have, which often occurs.

also just noticed that his claspers are 'grazed' at the tips or just missing the tip. not sure if this could be from the gravel (currently have 40kg of white sand and 20kg or cal carb mixed in together). or could be from my gar having a nibble during feeding time. will they heal up and grow ok?
