Motoro questions

3 weeks ago I bought a Motoro male, the disc is about 6-7". He eats like a champ, pellets only.

The lfs who sold it to me estimated that he was about a year old, is that correct?
How old would you estimate a 6-7" well fed, Motoro ray is?
When does he reach sexual maturity and will be able to reproduce, if i buy a female?
How fast/slow do they grow?
 
I'd guess he's younger than that maybe 6-9 months. They mature at 1.5-2 yrs. Disc size at 1 yr is somewhere around 12" and then will start to slow down especially for a male. Congrats on the motoro. I started with a motor as well.

it is possible that it could be a year old if it was fed very little and had bad water conditions the whole time. motoros are a awesome ray!
 
my buddys ray gave birth and by the time they were ready to sell a couple of the pups were already over 5 inches. i think he weened them for a month or so. so yours could possibly be 3 months old.
 
i have a pair of motoro, born in march this year they are now about 9inches across the disc, power fed on live black worms, compost worms, chopped prawns and massivore with weekly water changes
