G'day
Just thought I would post some pics of my rays. Have 4 motoros, 1M 3F. They were born on the 31st of August 2011. So they are roughly 4 months old now. 2 of them ate hikari carnivore pellets straight out, the other two were a little picky only eating live black worms and night crawlers. The two that ate the pellets right away have grown a massive amount, are roughly 9" across the disk. The other two that now accept pellets are about 5" (growing nicely now).
Can't believe how fast the two larger ones have grown. Im guessing by the time they hit 12months old they will be well in excess of 12". Current diet is now Hikari carnivore pellets, massivore and chopped fish fillets.
They are in a 450, 8x3x2.5, have been in that tank since I got them, which is probably half the reason they have grown so fast. Filtration is a fx5, an above tank trickle filter filled with eheim substrat pro, 2L of purigen and a layer of filter wool on top that gets regularly changed for water polishing. I have a brand new 8'x6'x3' acrylic tank that I have in storage waiting for these guys, can't fit it in my current house due to the width of the tank. Will be set up when my new place is built (hopefully by the end of this year!).
This is when I first got them at around the end of september -
These pics were taken about a month ago so they need updating -
Will get some updates pics later today when the camera is charged.
Alex
