Hello. My name is David. I have a baby Motoro Stingray. I've had him for about 5 months. I have him in 180 gallon set-up with Fluval FX5, a fluval C4, and one of those submersible filters with carbon and cotton (the ones you hook up to the air pump). I also have 6 young clown cloaches, a silver arowana, and 6 severums. I know that he'll need a bigger set up when he gets bigger. I'm actually saving up for 500 gallon aquarium in which i plan on installing a wet and dry with my fluval fx5. I wanted to ask what's the best sand out there for my motoro; in addition, where can i get it? Also, I want to get cichlid rocks, but i don't know where to get any good ones. they dont have anything good at any pet stores i've been to, and i havent found anything online i like. I'm going for something more natural. I know they're out there because i've seen them in peoples aquarium set up photos all over the internet but I can't find them any. Please help me, and thanks.

I forgot to ask how to clean it. i had a tank setup with sand before. I put it in a bucket with water and poured out the water after the sand settled, but my water was always dirty after that. even when i got it to clear up, the test kit would say it was bad. Do i boil the water? would that help?

Pool filter sand. It can be found at any pool store and is around $10-$15 for 50lb bag.

That all depends on where you get your sand from. If you are getting sand for aquarium use a few bucket rinses should be fine. If your getting sand for construction or play sand, you need to work a lot harder to remove all the extra dirt from it and its a lot of rinsing. I usually rinse a small amount of sand in a bucket with running water mixing by hand 5-10 times until the water is clear. I only put enough to cover the 1/8 of the bucket so it goes quicker.
