Here.
Hello Fellow Stingray MFKers,

I have noticed some pretty interesting behavior from my little motoro pups (1-M/1-F). Here is a list, let me know if you guys observe the same habits/behavior.

1) Right after they are full and happy from eating, they burrow/cover themselves in the sand.
2) When one hides, the other usually follows. Vice versa; when one decides to come out of the sand the other pops out for a swim too.
3) They greet me when they are hungry by swimming along the sides of the tank. They then proceed to "bop" their heads out of the water repeatedly.

After work I just sit there and watch them....:popcorn:

One thing that I notice though, they do not like my 72" light fixture. Might be too bright or something. Whenever I turn it on they both hide, with the exception of feeding time.

I love my first rays :headbang2

all 100% common and normal. they will get used to the lights with time.

Hehe, I did not know what to expect when I first picked them up - its all new with me! With other fish, I have somewhat of a clue, but with the rays its all new :D

im glad i got into keeping rays. they are soo unique. And in my opinion i regard them as the ultimate 'odd-ball'

I've had my 8" for 3 weeks now and the past two days, I noticed that she does this thing I can only describe as SNEEZING, like she concentrates and then flinches or recoils violently by flapping its wings for 1 second. There are also times like she stretches and then whips its tail from side to side for 1 sec. She's always patrolling the bottom, never swims up the sides.

Anything I need to start worrying about?

Whenever I approach the tank, my male marble will "slap" the front of the tank with the front of his disk. Kind of like begging for food. Always a good way to start the day.
