Motoro stung by other ray

So the other day (about a week I guess) I fed my rays and my Motoro went nuts like he usually does and was going after the food when it happened. I am not sure if he bit the singer or just got caught on it while trying to feed. Any way he freaked out and was all over the tank swimming upside down and curling up. Has any one had this happen to them? He did not eat for a few days but it looks like he may be trying now. I feel so sorry for him it looks really painful. I will try and post some pics of the sore that is forming it looks nasty. It is right below his lower lip and is starting to turn black. Is he a gonner? Any advice would be great.

I have had this happen a few times,as long as no major organs have been spiked he should be ok,i have had them not eat for over a week when this has happend.Hope this helps and i wish you the best of luck.

this exact thing happened to my male leo.... he made it just fine i had to pull it out after 2 weeks. He actually figured out what i was doing after i hit the sticker a couple times with a tongs and then climbed on top of the tongs when they were a foot off the bottom of the tank and waited for me to pull it.

Good shot of the underside of your Ray Turkeyboy,too many people leave discarded barbs in their tank,its good practice to check the substrate thoroughly when doing maintenance for these potentially deadly objects.If using a sand substrate then a course mesh net will sift through the sand nicely.
