How on earth would that lead one to treat for a parasite?

All I can tell from the video is the ray appears to be healthy and enjoying his time swimming in the current. Nice clean looking tank.

Hi Mate, It's Sam from Facebook who told you to post up on here, wont be long until plenty of people chime in with some help, a lot of experts on here and if they say nothing to worry about then definitely nothing to worry about, I personally don't think parasites are the problem at all... I think people are getting confused, sometimes if a ray is starved of oxygen or bad water quality etc then they will float at the surface of the water... but yours is not doing this, he looks very healthy and is loving the current :)

does it do it all day long and all night ?

if its just for a short period and gives up then i would say the ray is either bored or getting out of the way of other tankmates.

i would increas the air (add another air pump etc) in the tank as much as you can and see if anything changes. it should at least tell you something and its something that wont hurt anything if its not actually required.
