x2 on heater burn. new to rays but I've seen those types of burns on spiney eels. for some reason they almost always get infected so keep your water quality A+

Yup 100% heater burn. It seems to be pretty superficial and should heal no problem without any scarring with good water quality. Just keep an eye out for any spreading or infection setting in.

Don't mess with the PH just keep it as close to your tap as possible consistency is the most important thing

Thanks for the feedbacks! So far everthing is lookin pretty good. It hasn't gotten any worse and look a little better than the last couple of days! I have to beleive it is heater burn due to the fact the heater was off of the holders!
For the time being I repostioned the heater on top of one of the spray bar hopefully that will be out of the way for a couple of days! I should have the 150g back up and running in a few weeks since the trim replacement arrived today at the LFS :D cant wait to get that baby back up and running!!!

It also helps if the heater is running straight up and down it lessens the risk of the ray resting on it. You can make a heater guard from pvc pipe fairly cheap and easy

I had the heater going vertical when i put then in that tank but they were constantly swimming in to it so i repositioned it parallel... go figure she gets burned! SMH... I"m gonna make a slip cover out of PVC in the morning to cover it up!
Once the 150 is back up and running they will no longer be in a heaters harm lol... It's in the sump :)
Thanks for the suggestion John!
