I'm planning to get 1 motoro, currently considering getting a female. my problem is my tanks are only 2 feet wide, 1 is 4x2x2 and the other tank is 8x2x2.5 feet, both have 75 gallon sump tanks. Can i get a motoro for my tank?

for my 4x2x2 ft its only inhabitant is a 12 inch super red arowana, i do 30% weekly water change for my tanks.

I know a person that breeds there motoros in a 24 inch wide tank??Is it ideal?,well no but if you buy a small one it will give you time to get a bigger tank.

nailed it.......you have a few years before you would need to upgrade to a bigger tank or pond

I've got mine in a 28" bottom and there about 1 1/2 years old. Some are getting too big allready for the tank and some are still good depends on the ray but plan on it outgrowing the tank in 2 years. Get a male and it will take longer to outgrow the tank.

you will have several years before you need to upgrade...

Rays are like people, we have the potential to get 7 feet tall, but we only average 5' 8". Miles posted a thread looking for anyone that had a 30 inch plus motoro and there was one, the rest were at zoo's. I think you will be good for a couple of years or more depending on the ray and it's own potential. You just have to go in it with a back up plan in case your ray is a 30 inch monster.
